The short version: if the original repaired fault returns within six months because of our workmanship or a part we supplied and fitted, contact us. We will assess it and, where the claim is covered, put the relevant repair right without an additional repair charge.
When the warranty applies
The six-month period starts on the repair completion date shown on your job record or receipt. It applies to the customer and device identified on that record.
You do not need the original paper receipt if we can locate the completed job in our records. We may ask for another reasonable form of proof of purchase or the job reference.
What is covered
- Our workmanship for the specific repair described on the completed job.
- A fault in a replacement part that Advantec Computing supplied and fitted as part of that repair.
- A recurrence of the original fault where it results from that workmanship or supplied part.
What is not covered by this additional warranty
- A different or unrelated fault that develops after the original repair.
- Accidental, impact, liquid, electrical or other damage occurring after the device leaves us.
- Malware, reinfection, account problems, later software installations, updates or settings changes that were not part of the agreed repair.
- Work, alterations or attempted repairs carried out later by the customer or another repairer where they affect the claimed fault.
- The part itself where it was supplied by the customer rather than Advantec Computing.
- Normal wear or gradual loss of consumable capacity, rather than a defect in a part we supplied.
These exclusions only describe the scope of our additional six-month warranty. They do not remove any rights you have under consumer law.
What happens when you contact us
- Tell us the job reference if you have it, what has happened and when the problem returned.
- We will inspect the device and compare the problem with the work recorded on the original job.
- If the claim is covered, we will repeat the relevant work or repair or replace the relevant part, as appropriate, without an additional repair charge.
- If the problem is not connected to the original repair, we will explain what we found and agree any chargeable work with you before proceeding.
Please stop using the device if continued use may cause further damage or data loss. Contact us before attempting another repair, as later work can make the original cause difficult to assess.
Data and access
Please keep a current backup wherever possible. Warranty assessment may require us to test the device and use the minimum login access reasonably needed for that test. Never send a PIN or password through the website form or by email; provide it only at check-in if it is needed.
Your statutory rights
This warranty is an additional promise from Advantec Computing. It does not replace, restrict or shorten rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, and those rights may continue beyond six months.
Our services will be carried out with reasonable care and skill. If anything on this page conflicts with a mandatory legal right, the legal right takes priority. You can also read our repair terms.
